I have a nice spot in the basement to sew. I saved up a year ago and bought some cabinets, shelving to organize, the whole bit. Unfortunately, I REALLY don't like to be down there! So what happens? I bring my sewing machine upstairs, sit at the dining room table, then when someone comes over I run it all downstairs... and a pile is created. My basement is now one big pile. All because I really don't like to be down there. (Okay, and because I don't like to clean, lol). Anyway, I decided to reclaim my dining room table... and make a little corner in my bedroom. With Ross gone in New York, it's not like it's going to bother anyone else! So I took this $5 garage sale desk and Mod Podged it with Amy Butler paper. I know it's bright... but I wanted something that would make me feel cheery and inspired, even when the weather was yucky! :) I think it fits the bill!
Yes, that laundry basket is full of SCRAPS! Wow! I know! But how could I make those wonderful patchwork totes without scraps!? :)
I know that the milk crates are less than ideal... but hey, my fabric is FOLDED AND PUT AWAY! :) Can you believe it? (Of course, this is just for the projects I'm working on right now, there is more downstairs, lol).
I think it has worked out to be a great makeshift corner. :) And it is right by a window, which will make me smile. :)

It's wonderful! I do the exact same thing with my craft stuff because I have the exact same problem...I want to be upstairs where the action is. Next house of mine is going to have a craft suite/store...(dreams are good right?)
GREAT job on the desk! It is so cute!
I love it. I should get motivated and clean my sewing room. Its kinda big, just not organizes. Maybe I will make it my Friday project since its my day off from work.
You did an awesome job on your desk.
Looks great! I'm jealous of that scrap basket!
